New integral kitchen for our client who is finally creating the home they truly wanted. The ex-architect had extended the property years before and decided to carry out more extensive work to make this the home they would never move from.
The kitchen space rises above a drop down living and dining area looking out over beautiful undisturbed countryside views. This is a truly unique space and Lorna our kitchen designer tailored it to the client’s specific needs. For example, the hob area is lower than the remainder of the kitchen. A more ergonomic position for the hob but not many people are brave enough to go with the design.
The white matt lacquer finish chosen are Mackintosh integral kitchen units. This is a fashionable and stylish lacquered high-gloss kitchen with clean lines and a modern handle-less design. A similar option was chosen for the utility room but in a melamine finish. Ready to call into action when needed are S-box pop-up sockets with USB ports. They are hidden in the worktop with a cover in the same material.
The kitchen was zoned into a cooking area, breakfast making area, prep space and space to wash up. In the cooking area, there is a Miele combi steam oven, warming drawer, microwave, dishwasher and 4 zone induction hob. Above the hob is a statement extractor from Elicia. Lorna recommended a Liebherr under-counter fridge for ease of access. In this model the door pulls out and inside are drawers rather than shelves.
A small breakfast bar was added to the kitchen for the clients to sit and enjoy a coffee or sit while dinner is cooking. Grey quartz worktops run along the white units in the kitchen, whilst duropal welsh slate is used for the utility room. A taller up-stand is used in the kitchen to link the two levels of worktop and create a splash-back barrier. The sinks in the kitchen and the utility are both The 1810 Company sinks in stainless steel. Led lighting in cool white beneath the wall units completes the look.
As an ex-architect, every detail was carefully considered and executed with Lora. The client is now delighted with his forever kitchen.
