A client living on Barton on Sea loved the rough, natural texture of driftwood with the non-continuous grain and came to us with this in mind as the inspiration for her new kitchen.  So the Grey Nebraska Oak units from the Mackintosh modern contemporary collection matched this effect and was the starting point for the project.  These units can be fitted in either a horizontal or vertical grain effect. The client chose horizontal.

The worktops selected were Black Antique Granite, this mixture of gloss and matt gives an etched effect and similar to pebbles on a beach. This kept the coastal theme consistent.  The client also loved the idea of mixing textures. With gloss cabinets and glass to contrast the rougher textures of the base units.

The contrast of integral glass ivory profile units that were chosen for the top units also to kept space light, and was minimalistic in design.

The client had a table top made especially to size and we customised the kitchen to ensure the breakfast. bar disappeared flush into the work surface

Finally, a well-chosen lighting scheme gave a more industrial feel and modernised the design.

The contrast of textures was used to produce this eclectic feel that the client loves.
